This comprehensive beginner's course provides a thorough introduction to the practice of Ashtanga Yoga. You will receive four weeks of 90-minute workshops on Sundays, conducted as semi-private classes with one of our highly trained and qualified Ashtanga Yoga Atlanta (AYA) teachers. Each workshop will take you through the sun salutations, standing and half of the seated postures of the Ashtanga Primary Series, and introduce you to the importance of Tristana (three points of focus), the Sanskrit count, Sanskrit posture names, and a brief overview of the Patanjali yoga philosophy as written in the Yoga Sutras.

The knowledge and skills that you will gain through this course will serve you well on your journey through the Ashtanga practice for many years to come. It will provide you with a solid foundation crucial to the development of healthy and safe habits right from the start of your path in the practice of Ashtanga Yoga.

Sunday beginner course classes meet as a group from 4:00-5:30 PM at Ashtanga Yoga Atlanta, located at 27 Waddell Street, 30307, in Inman Park, just off the beltline.
